…so how do you say your name?

I know you're thinking it—it’s the first question I get! It’s pronounced Muh-lay, just like Malaysia.

An important thing to know about me is that I was born and raised in Utah, where the mountains were always my compass. A few years ago my family and I relocated to The Woodlands, Texas area, and now I have no idea what direction I’m facing, ever. Life really changed for me when I moved here and pushed me way out of my comfort zone. My business is grateful for that.

Some of my favorite things…pickleball, traveling, watching trashy reality TV, going on adventures with my fam, dance parties with my girls, not being in Texas during the summer…

How did I get into photography? When I was pregnant with my first baby, I immediately felt the need to document every tiny detail of her life. It all was happening so fast and I wanted to remember all of it. Now, I’m raising my own little girl gang—three sassy but adorable daughters who are growing at super sonic speed and I’m still desperately trying to document it all.

My husband deserves a shout out on here. He’s my biggest fan and constant support. Also helps me with the boring business side of things while I get to create. Life with him is loud and exciting and basically, he’s the little boy I never had.

I’ve been doing photography for 11 years officially, so you could say I have street smarts. I did work my tail off and earned my Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts Photography in 2015 so you could also say that I have book smarts. Pretty good combo if you ask me…

Growing up with a unique name and red hair made me stand out all the time, and I’ve realized I want my photography to do the same—to be not quite like all the others.

I’m laid back and like to have fun on the outside! Usually having an anxiety attack on the inside. But hey, I’m human and I think a lot of us are that way.

If you’re here, I have a feeling you’d love your story captured in a unique, honest, and fun way. I’d love to be the one to do it.

Let’s make some pretty memories.

Talk soon,

Malae (like Malaysia!)
