MMHS Homecoming
Photographing high school dance groups is quickly becoming a favorite of mine! This group had a whopping 11 couples and made it such a fun (and a little crazy) time! We barely beat out the rain and raced the sunset and got amazing light! This location is one of my favorites because it is a very classic Spanish Fork/Mapleton look and has a beautiful view over the city. Another thing I love about photographing dance groups is getting to see their gorgeous dresses and classy suits! It makes me get nostalgic about my own high school dances. Okay, now enough chit chat and look at these pretty faces!
MMHS Prom, Provo Orchard
Found a new favorite subject to shoot - high school prom groups. Especially if they are as cool as these cats. And don't judge me when I try to be as hip and "lit" as they are. And are willing to do any crazy ideas I tell them to do. We had to be creative working in this space because the orchard was literally crawling with a million people. I needed a change from trying to shoot around other people and one of my favorite shots came from this. I laid down on the ground and told everyone to gather around my camera and give me their best stank face. Paid off, in my opinion. Loved these guys and hoped they had a once in a lifetime prom!
Lens Flares & Abandoned Warehouses
Last month I had the privilege to shoot behind the scenes of a music video filmed by Nick Sales of Aevium Films featuring BYU Noteworthy and the BYU Cougarettes. We filmed in an old warehouse that was probably -30 degrees indoors. The lighting setup included six back lights and two large frontal LEDS. It gave me some amaaaaaazing lens flares and paired with these beautiful singers and incredible dancers made the perfect artistic combination. Not to mention a handmade indoor rain machine thrown into the mix. Here's the link to the final product!
