Kindrae Birth Story, Utah Valley Regional
Enagagements are exciting, bridals are exciting, and weddings are exciting, but I don't think there is anything that beats birth story exciting. The feeling in the air after a couple meets their own child for the first time after waiting for -/+ 9 months. Soaking in every little detail, wondering what features they got from mom and dad or even other generations. Pure love for a child they had never met until that second they were born. It's truly unexplainable until you experience it for yourself, and if so, you probably know exactly the feeling I'm talking about. A feeling that brings you to tears, laughter, and shock all at the same time. It was that feeling when documenting my nephew's birth story. Meet Kindrae Wayne...
Emma Newborn, Lifestyle
It's the best to watch my clients grow into different life stages. My favorite is watching couples have babies because it always changes them! A new feeling of love is formed between them. A found love for their child they didn't know was possible. The way they marvel at the little human they created. There is nothing like it. I loved this lifestyle session of sweet baby Emma. She was born into the country lifestyle and her nursery was the cutest farm theme. Her mama put much thought into every single detail! Here are some of my favorites. Enjoy!

Hutchings Family, Little Sahara
I LOVE this family!! I have photographed them every year since I had begun my photography business and I am always so excited to do them! I feel like our visions always combine and in turn creates beautiful photos every time. This time, though, was my very favorite. I was feeling adventurous and wanted to shoot at the sand dunes and they happily obliged. All I wanted was stormy skies to give us beautiful contrast against the light dunes and mother natured delivered that and more! We got chased out at the very end by a HUGE windstorm - we're talking like we couldn't even see where we were going kind of windstorm - but we were super blessed the entire session with impending storm clouds and stunning deep blue skies. Their outfits matched the sky perfectly. I couldn't believe it. An artistic fire ignited in me during this shoot and magic happened. Enjoy my millions of favorites... :)
Noyes Family, Summer Lifestyle
It is such a blast taking lifestyle photos for the Noyes family! Every session they have several themes that we photograph for Pax to write about on their lifestyle blog (which you can view here). Summer has been so fun with little A reaching new stages and experiencing things for the first time. She's possibly the cutest baby in the whole world and every time I come over I have to restrain myself from just bringing her home with me. It has been so fun watching Pax and K become parents (read all about their adoption journey here) and they are on another adventure hoping to adopt once more! They deserve it so much and A would be the best big sister without a doubt. Here are some highlights from recent sessions!
Hannah & Brandon Wedding Day, Salt Lake Temple
This wedding was one that I was much looking forward to attending. I just knew it was going to be a dream. It started as a gorgeous sunny day at the Salt Lake Temple, where much to my surprise, we didn't have to wait in line to shoot at the coveted temple steps. Hannah and Brandon were just beaming the entire time. Bridal party photos were such a blast and they were very open to everything I set them up to do. A beautiful luncheon followed the ceremony at the Lion House in Salt Lake. It was elegant and romantic. Even the decor matched their wedding colors! It was so sweet to hear Hannah and Brandon talk about each other. The reception was held at the groom's parent's house in Pleasant View. Side note: I want to live there. The city is charming and lives up to it's name with jaw dropping views of the valley. The reception was also jaw dropping. Every nook and cranny was full of intricate vintage details. They were thoughtfully placed and brought so much interest. Not to mention the amazing light up LOVE sign by the pool - one of my favorite details! But my favorite detail of all was Hannah and Brandon and how perfect they were together. Sweetness just emanates from them. Congratulations you two! May you have the best life together and forever!
Wright Family + Cake Smash, Provo Harbor
Once upon a time, this family made two gorgeous little humans (that I am determined to set up with my two little humans) and I got to photograph them! Little Declan turned one so we grabbed some family shots in a beautiful field and then had the BEST CAKE SMASH ever. In all my years of photographing, I have never seen a cake smash so epic. Scroll down to see!
Carter Family, Tunnel Springs
Britt and I have been friends since high school and I was so thrilled when she asked if I could take some of her adorable, I'm talking ADORABLE, one year old and her family. We picked the majestic location of Tunnel Springs and had the most incredible light. Little Kalai was the star of the show and loved to show off his standing up skills! Nothing better than watching your friends grow up! Take a look at my faves.
Maddi & Hayden Wedding Day, Provo City Center Temple
Maddi and Hayden's wedding day was such a gorgeous summer day. Not a cloud in the sky and beautiful, happy people everywhere. Maddi and Hayden were so excited to finally be married! I loved their romantic yet playful wedding colors and their wedding party looked so fabulous together. The Provo City Center temple was busy and beautiful and full of so much love. I have lots of memories at The Chillon and loved shooting their reception there! All the details were stunning and elegant. Hayden surprised Maddi by singing her a song and the room was so full of love I could barely keep myself together. The first dances were perfect, bouquet toss, cake cutting and getaway were all perfect. I couldn't have asked for a better wedding day and so thrilled for these two. Enjoy some highlights from their special day!
Bettinger Family, Loch Lommond Pond
If there is a family I'd drop everything for to go photograph, this family would be it! I don't know if kindred families are a thing, but I feel like I should be part of this family. Even if they don't feel the same way. Jokes, jokes....but really. Every time we shoot together I know I will be trying to not double over laughing every five seconds and try to keep my composure and take some pictures. Their closeness and relationships are literally #familygoals. So many favorites from this session, here are some I want to share! xoxo
Kambrie & Landon Maternity, AF Canyon
One of the best things about your siblings getting older and reaching milestones in their life is getting to document it. It's such a special time for me to connect with family and be excited for upcoming events, and in this case - a baby! It's always fun for me to see couples before kids and then after kids. It changes them. For the good, most of the time. ;) My sister and brother-in-law are expecting their first baby boy in just a few short weeks! His nursery is woodland themed, so naturally we had to do their maternity pics in the woods. This was my first time up to Tibble Fork since the renovation and man, it felt good to be back. I made Kambrie and Landon get their feet in the water for a few of the last shots even though it was FRIGID but I think it was worth it!
PS Check out the cute little tiny baby shoes!!! Ugh, so cute.
Plastow Family, Lifestyle
Lifestyle sessions. I cannot emphasize enough how much I love them. They are as real as real can get. Documenting your real life family moments in your own home. Oh, the details!! I am so happy that I got to meet this adorable family that added a tiny new member a few weeks ago. And he is THE cutest little newborn. His eyes are wise beyond his weeks and his temperament will melt your heart.
Naylor Family, Tunnel Springs
I've known this sweet, sweet family for a little while now. I was so honored to take their pictures. Maybe other photographers can relate to this, but you know when you feel like you get to know someone 1000x better when you are taking pictures of them? This is totally what happened and it's SO cool. I love their playful and relaxed vibe. Also, can we talk about this location? The Sound of Music was going through my head the entire time we were there. Breathtaking, and highly, highly recommend not only for pictures but just to visit! Utah is beautiful!
Maddi & Hayden Bridals, Provo Orchard
I looove first looks. They never cease to be heart melting and maybe a little emotional (for me, oops). Hayden's reaction to seeing Maddi in her wedding dress was perfect and I don't think he could have grinned any bigger. And let's not forget how excited Maddi was to see his reaction! We got to shoot at the orchard during it's prime blossom time (read: crawling with millions of people) but as always, it was worth it. I think it was a perfect setting for their soft romantic look. Be prepared to swoon...
Hannah & Brandon, Bridals at Utah Lake
I just have to tell you all how much I love these two humans. This was our first time meeting and we just hit it off! Hannah brought her glam squad (mother and sister) and we just had a BALL. Everyone was so easy going, relaxed, and dang funny! That's my favorite kind of session! So, I know it seems like all of my locations lately have been in Provo...but I do travel, I promise! In fact, we were supposed to take these bridals at Antelope Island but we got word that the bugs were HORRIBLE and we decided to change locations to Utah Lake! We did see some bugs, but luckily they didn't try to eat us. Utah lake is pretty dynamic, so we started at a field right by the lake that had just greened up. I knew it was going to be good, but man -- these turned out magical. The fluffy weeds and golden sun and deep greens made for some serious enchanting images. Then we hit up the rocky shoreline of the lake right before sunset and had beautiful lighting the whole time! We couldn't have asked for better conditions. Okay, I'll stop gushing and just let you see them for yourself. And guys, just wait til you see the images from their wedding day. I want to go back and relive that day and it wasn't even my wedding. Dreamy. Okay, okay, now I'll for real stop. Love on these. xoxox
Mallory, Senior at Downtown Provo
Loved this unique senior session with Mallory. I've shot at this old historic building in Provo before and have been itching to shoot there again, and let me tell you, it's perfect for seniors! The architecture is so pretty. She showed off some of her MMHS Elleves gear and we finished up at the Provo orchard for a soft, dreamy look. Sigh. Once again, wishing my senior pics were anywhere near this cool. Congratulations to Mallory as she graduates this week! Enjoy...
Elizabeth & Carson, Engagements at Provo Orchard
I happen to have known Elizabeth for my entire life, and so when she asked me to take her and her fiance's engagment photos, to say I was excited was an understatement! She's also my cousin but has lived in other states for most of our lives, so this was a super fun chance to catch up and evaluate the incoming new family member. ;) Needless to say, I approve! These two are so in love and a perfect match. Also I am pretty sure we shot at this orchard during it's PRIME. The blossoms were so full and amazing. Til next spring, amazing blossoms.....
MMHS Prom, Provo Orchard
Found a new favorite subject to shoot - high school prom groups. Especially if they are as cool as these cats. And don't judge me when I try to be as hip and "lit" as they are. And are willing to do any crazy ideas I tell them to do. We had to be creative working in this space because the orchard was literally crawling with a million people. I needed a change from trying to shoot around other people and one of my favorite shots came from this. I laid down on the ground and told everyone to gather around my camera and give me their best stank face. Paid off, in my opinion. Loved these guys and hoped they had a once in a lifetime prom!
Tayzlie, Urban Downtown
I love repeat clients! I shot Taylize's parent's wedding last fall and just fell in love with their little family. It was one of my favorite weddings ever. I was thrilled when Taylize was signed up to do a mini session with me. Little Miss Tayzlie and her super super adorable personality helped her mom and dad announce her newest sibling. She's such a spunky and sweet girl. I love the silly images the most and LOVE her fiery red hair!
Taylor Family, Urban Downtown
I had so much fun doing urban mini sessions this Spring. These are great to get some quick updated pictures. I have one word for this session: MOTORCYCLE. And it awesome. We got a super cute shot of their little man on the bike with dad helping him sit up from the back. With a little bit of photoshop magic we got THE cutest pic of him all by himself, happy as can be! Check out the bottom of this post to see the before and after. Anyway, I know you are probably as obsessed with this cute family as I am, so I'll stop chatting and let you get all the heart eyes while viewing this gallery 😍
Before & After
Maddi & Hayden, Engagements at Utah Lake
Maddi and Hayden had special memories at the Provo castle so we decided to do their engagement session there and finish up at Utah Lake! It was so fun to try new spots at the castle that I had never been to before. And we literally raced against the rain to try not to get rained out on our way to the lake. Which, luckily it held off until the very end and gave us some seriously cool skies. I loved their connection and how Hayden made Maddi laugh (OFTEN) and loved how Maddi's strawberry blonde hair popped against the lake! These are a few of my favorites! xo
Madison, Senior at Utah Lake
The beginning of spring is tricky for finding amazing locations in Utah, but Utah lake is ALWAYS a good option. Especially when there is some cloud cover and amazing sunsets, which we were super lucky to get both! Madison and I started in downtown Provo for an urban look and then headed to the lake to get soft, pretty vibes at the lake. It was so good. So, so good. Side note, I wish I had an ounce of this much fashion sense as a high school senior!
Noyes Family, Lifestyle Session
I've been following their adoption process since the beginning, and this family has the sweetest story with the happiest "ever after" to go with it. The Noyes family was able to adopt their first beautiful little baby A as an infant. I've had the pleasure of capturing their real and raw moments at home since she was first brought home and have LOVED seeing her grow and fit right in with her new family. With four dogs to add to the mix, it's always a good time!
Olivia, Downtown Provo
I absolutely LOVE when other creatives want to collaborate and experiment. It is always great for my artistic soul to step out of my comfort zone and just simply see, feel, and create. Olivia and I had been wanting to create unique, urban, and moody images for this shoot and we got just that. Olivia is always, always a pleasure to work with. She is so dynamic when posing and she never runs out of poses. Luckily, during the entirety of our shoot there was dark cloud cover and a bit of wind (with a few rain drops) which made for great even light to work with. For the last part of our shoot we ended up inside the parking garage and decided to use the big florescent lights on the ceiling as our light source. I know what you're thinking - florescent lights are probably the last light source I would ever use if I had a choice. But, with a lot of color correction and experimenting with color balance, we got really pretty, low key images from it. Check it out for yourselves!
